The department of orthodontics mainly deals with braces for esthetic and functional correction. The department is situated on the second floor of the northern clinical block and consists of almost 3900 square feet floor area. It comprises of an under graduate clinic ,post graduate clinic, seminar hall with all state of the art projection facilities, well equipped dry and wet labs ,a large post graduate common room and a well planned record room. Apart from these the department has its own library, a full-fledged photographic studio and a computer centre with the latest orthodontic software.
Not to mention, we are equipped with an orthodontic museum with a wide range of orthodontic appliances Apart from routine Fixed Orthodontic therapy, the staff and students carry out various specialty treatments like Functional therapy, Growth modulation procedures, Surgical orthodontics, Naso-alveolar moulding, Lingual orthodontics, Clear Aligners, Skeletal anchorage systems and Self ligating techniques.
The department consists of five post graduate staff that has good teaching experience and a vast number of publications to their credit. The staff takes care of the undergraduate programme consisting of 60 students and postgraduate programme consisting of 3 students annually. The college library has more than 73 titles of orthodontic books and 8 international journals with five journals having 5 years of back volumes.
We have a daily output of more than 60 patients on an average who are being treated with state of the art equipment and material for very nominal charges.
